Sensor Grid Tile
The Sensor Grid Tile is the under-vehicle detection cell. One cell sits beneath each parked vehicle on an instrumented deck. The cell observes the bay continuously — there is no scheduled scan, no rotating element, and no contact with the vehicle, the battery, or the OEM warranty envelope.
What it senses
- Infrared thermal field across the underbody at a resolution sufficient to resolve a per-cell hot-spot before it propagates.
- Electrochemical gas detection tuned for the specific volatile signatures of lithium-ion electrolyte venting (including hydrogen and characteristic VOC families).
- Vehicle presence and absence, so the system distinguishes an empty bay from a parked vehicle without operator input.
Why multi-modal
Single-modality detection — thermal-only or gas-only — is fragile under the dilution conditions of an enclosed cargo deck. Multi-modal fusion is what allows a tier-2 alert to be raised with high confidence minutes ahead of any visible smoke. Modality fusion runs on the segment master, not in the cell, so the cell remains low-power and long-MTBF.
Environmental envelope
Installation
Cells install non-invasively — no drilling of the deck, no modification to the vehicle, no impact to the OEM warranty. A single deck installs alongside the berth in approximately three working days, without drydock. Installation methodology is subject to a pending Indian patent; specifics are documented for pilot customers under NDA.
What we do not publish here
Mechanical mounting geometry, sensor coordinates relative to deck features, and the internal modality-fusion thresholds are IP-sensitive and patent-pending. These are available to pilot counterparties under signed NDA.
